The Miyabi Coat & Zipang Coat Ceramic Coating Kit combines a durable base layer of Miyabi Coat with a semi-self-healing top layer of Zipang Coat for a beautiful and lasting finish for your vehicle! All at a cost less than purchasing the coatings individually!
Durability in normal conditions with regular maintenance is rated at 5 years and the semi-self healing characteristics of Zipang Coat means that the appearance of small swirls and imperfections in the coating surface will reduce when exposed to heat.
Using a single layer of Miyabi as a base coat improves the overall durability and lends a slightly reflective dimension to the luster of the Zipang Coat top layer.
Maintain with Kamikaze Over Coat Liquid after a wash every 4-6 weeks to maintain the unmatched looks & hydrophobicity of this ultimate coating combination!

Miyabi Coat 2.0
- Start with a clean, dry surface that has no wax or sealants on it. Use a Panel Wipe product to fully strip the surface prior to coating.
- While polishing the surface first is not necessary, it is recommended to bring out the best looks in the finish.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly.
- Start with top surfaces first, and work panel by panel, applying and removing (i.e. hood, roof, trunk, fender, door, etc).
- In straight line motions, apply a thin layer to the surface, then switch directions in a cross-hatch pattern to ensure even application (do not add more product when you switch directions).
- Let the coating set on the surface for 3-5 minutes, then remove residue using 2 different towels. Keep the towels separate as you use one for the first wipe, then the other for the follow-up wipe. Ensure that you get ALL residue / dark patches off of the surface. Pressure is not needed during this process, as the residue should come off easily.
- Once you're finished, thoroughly inspect the vehicle (use a flashlight!) to make sure there are no dark spots remaining. Once this dries / cures, it can only be removed via machine polishing.
- Work out of direct sunlight, preferably in a garage. Do not apply in temperatures below about 50 degrees. During very high temperatures / humidity, reduce the amount of time between application and removal.
- IF you should allow the product to sit on the surface too long, it will become tacky / sticky. If this happens, apply more product right over top if it, and immediately remove.
- Wait an hour or two after your Miyabi application to begin applying Zipang. Complete all layers within 24 hours to ensure proper bonding of layers.
Zipang Coat 2.0
Application Instructions
- Shake bottle
- Apply a small amount of Zipang Coat onto applicator cloth/block…enough for even coverage.
- Apply to surface in straight lines only (do not cross-hatch) with a little overlap to ensure a thick, even coverage to the surface.
- Using a 2-towel method (one designated for the initial wipe, the second to do the final wipe), gently remove the coating residue using small, circular motions after 3~5 minutes (1-2 panels at a time, look for ‘rainbow effect’). Humidity levels and ambient temperature will have an effect on curing time, so the higher the temperature and humidity, the shorter the amount of time between application and removal.
- After applying to the entire vehicle, be sure to look carefully for “high spots”, or darker patches where the coating wasn’t fully removed. Wipe these down right away, otherwise they will require machine polishing to remove if allowed to cure overnight.
- Do not allow the vehicle to get wet for at least 24 hours (the longer, the better), and don’t wash vehicle for 1 week.
- Once the bottle of coating is opened, the curing process begins, even if you put the cap back on tightly. Once opened, you should use the coating within one month's time.
- Please be sure to use all coatings as soon as you can from the time you receive them.
- All coatings have a limited shelf life due to the chemical nature of how they crystallize. Look to use coatings within 4-6 months of receiving them (less if bottle is opened).
