The new Kamikaze OVER COAT 6

With improved durability, slickness and anti-static properties, Kamikaze Over Coat 6.0 incorporates "Borophene" into its formulation, a metal-based nanomaterial that is composed of "boron" rather than carbon and has a honeycomb-like structure. Benefits of this composition include:

  • Superior Strength and Flexibility: Borophene, a single-atom-thick layer of boron, is known for its remarkable mechanical strength and flexibility. Incorporating it into Over Coat makes it more durable and resistant to wear and degradation.
  • Lightweight: Borophene is extremely lightweight, which improves the sacrificial layer wearability without compromising its durability.
  • Thermal Conductivity: Borophene has high thermal conductivity, making the sacrificial layer better at regulating temperature or even integrating features like body heat dissipation or thermal insulation.
  • Chemical Resistance: Borophene is also resistant to chemical corrosion, which makes the sacrificial layer more resilient in challenging environments.

Over Coat is designed to be (easily) applied over a durable base layer coating…which could be Miyabi Coat 2.0, ISM Coat 3.0, Zipang Coat 2.0 as well as other brands of glass, ceramic, & quartz coatings. Over Coat will brilliantly take the abuse of the elements, protecting your base layer coating while providing enhanced hydrophobic, anti-static & self-cleaning characteristics. And since it’s so easy to apply and work with, you can quickly maintain your coated vehicle every month or two (durability however is listed as 3-6 months).

* A notable characteristic of the new 6.0 version is the increased slickness of the finished surface vs previous versions. With previous versions the finished surface would best be described as a feel akin to a clean pane of glass. 6.0 however, has a  persistent, smooth & slick feel after application. Dry application. Shake bottle well before use. Apply to a clean, coated surface using a microfiber towel. Spread evenly and wipe off excess. Do not apply in direct sunlight. Reapply every 1–2 months as needed.

Wash regularly using a pH-neutral shampoo. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners. Over Coat Liquid 6.0 can be reapplied to refresh slickness and hydrophobic performance.

Over Coat Liquid 6.0 is designed as a sacrificial layer and is not a standalone ceramic coating. Durability varies based on climate, usage, and maintenance routines.
